Computer repair FAQs for Ferring
I had a pop-up saying my computer was infected and to call a number. What should I do?
Don’t call the number and don’t let anyone connect to your computer. Close the browser (or switch the machine off), then call us. These are scams, not real warnings, and we can check the computer, remove anything nasty and show you how to spot them.
Will my data be safe?
Yes. Your files stay on your machine unless you ask us to back them up, we never go through personal data, and where a repair puts the drive at risk we’ll back it up first and tell you.
My computer is slow. Is it worth fixing?
Usually, yes. An SSD upgrade and a proper clean-up transforms most machines under eight years old for far less than a replacement. If a computer really isn’t worth it, we’ll tell you straight.
